Trillian v3 1.9 0 exe

Checking mail is far superior in Digsby. Thus far I like it. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? One of the best multi-network IM around.. It's subjective but for me it's the best. Quite simply my messenger of choice since Quite simply, it is beautiful. The options for skinning and plugins alone make Digsby look like ICQ version 1. The folks who develop the software are reachable and work hard at making sure that the software works well.

Plus, as a member, you get the wbe version which is invaluable to me. This is a software worth downloading, and if you like the free version it is more than worth the money to with everything it has to offer. Overall I think Trillian is the best all-around messenger on the market.

Anyway, always felt awkward, still does, probably always will. Otherwise if you're not running with oodles of free RAM I'd give this a miss, it's very very memory heavy.

I thought pidgin was a bit resource heavy at 22Mb, but it's an absolutely lightweight by comparison. I'm afraid once I saw that usage I uninstalled quickly, I generally have lots of apps running and not a lot of free ram on my 2gb system is spare. I can't afford to waste it on memory heavy instant messenger. Shame, as it looks nice and I used to live old Trillian. Took me awhile to warm up to this new version.

Now I think its great. Especially since they added facebook and myspace to the other im's. Little bit of a pain to set up, but once you do, its great. And for the people pushing miranda and Pidgin, its not even close,. Everything about this is much better. Why would they update this?

I haven't used this program in a long time, load times where horrible and it seemed to suck resources over time. Decided to give it a spin again. This time during installing there was an option to install the ask. So I unchecked it and guess what it still installed the ask. Just to make sure it wasn't a mistake on my end I installed it on a clean system while running a screen recorder, again ask. Triple checked this by watching the recorded video of my screen, yep I unchecked it. So trillian is going into my crap list again.

Maybe in a few years I'll try again but pigdin for me. For 25 bucks this babe does: Windows Live, Yahoo! Can the freeware Miranda do the same? Me, I like simple things that look great and work out-of-teh-box. Seems stable. About time this product reached gold. Version is the official Gold Code. I have been using Trillian since and have found it to be one of the best products I have ever used.

Getting there. Got it free from a TrialPay InkClub. Still got some issues and it's seriously lacking good skins and icon sets. I've been a Miranda fanboy for a long time and I still like it. But Miranda's for the people who like to tweak and poke around with plugins and skins and have tweaks and customizations for everything. And hope it doesn't crash Miranda's got huge potential and it's up to you to make it great.

Astra is good from the start and stays good but you don't have the same level of detail in your customizations. And Astra's more bloat than the vanilla Miranda installation. But not by much. Install a few skins in Miranda, some plugins and you're looking at a 78MB installation. The Facebook plugin needs work, and some minor issues with plugins and protocols, other than that it feels finished.

I like it. After trying everything else, it's still my client of choice. Astra supports Google Talk out of the box. As well as any other Jabber based IM service. No mention of Google talk.

Kinda pointless with out it. I was on the web page for version 3 and Gtalk wasn't mentioned there. You are correct. You had a point with that Duke Nukem remark there. This app is dead before it's out of beta because of the many great website-services that does what Trillian does and more with more intuitive interfaces and that are entirely free forever.

No video or audio application beats Skype in terms of quality for that matter so why anyone would pay for this is just another laugh. This works very well for me, I like it allot. I purchased astra as I want to support their efforts and all you complainers out there, you do not work for free so do not expect others too also. This software is well worth the money and I have had very few problems with it. Well worth the money and it works well and I had no problem with installation either. Several advanced features are only available in the "pro" version of Trillian Astra, which you have to pay for, of course.

Our friends at Softpedia actually think it's adware, and they are probably right, as usual. It's just that Skype developers insist on people using only their client to access the Skype network, and their client alone.

Ridiculous, but that's the way it is. All in all, it's probably worth giving a try, but I'll give it just two stars. Wow, Trillian. What I used to use waaaaay back in the day.

They have been trying to get the next version of Trillian out for so long. Trillian Astra is turning in to the Duke Nukem Forever of instant messengers. Nice shining and rich colors.. So far,so good, for kids and adults. Pay for IM video feature????? Still the best and with the best features. Plugin support alone is worth the price of admission.

Also, it isn't plain like many others out there. I have been using Trillian since well before they first started charging for a pro version, and will continue to pay my yearly subscription. There is no better messenger. After so many years, we got a new skin and an amount of features that were supposed to change everything Trillian is still the awkward messenger that never made me feel comfortable using it.

It can be as powerful as u want and its a messenger after all but It couldn't get rid of the "unintuitiveness factor". There are too many points of control to achieve whatever task you want.

And the colors are like onion juice in your eyes. I don't have Skype anymore, but I seem to recall the plugin for the last version required Skype to be running for Trillian integration Can any Skype users confirm if the plugin allows for stand-alone connection through Trillian? All in all, I'm very impressed so far! Certainly is getting there at last! Nice, Clean user interface. Connect OK, and seems to work really well.

The link in within the Astra application. Well worth signing up for the beta, as a previous poster has mentioned, you get the invite back straight away. I also have signed up ages ago, and not heard anything, and would encourage anyone else who did not hear back to re-sign up.

Yes, it takes you to a beta sign up page but you get an email back from them right away within seconds with a download link. The download link takes you to the beta signup page and not the actual download.

I signed up to test the beta when it first came out and have not heard a word from Trillian. Since Trillian is taking so darn long to come out with Astra I gave up on them and am using one of their competitors applications which does what I was looking for. Really sorry, but I simply cannot give a proper rating Digsby and Miranda have the options tough ;. Microsoft has fallen behind, Symantec etc. Although we all have our opinions on those companies too ; I've been with Trillian since the 2.

My biggest issue with Trillian 3. My god it took forever. Astra is almost instant. There are a lot of fixes, enhancements, improvements for the upcoming Astra. We are currently at Beta Build 94 and have opened up beta testing to more. I always gave this a somewhat negative review. Mainly because yahoo msgr never worked.

Now everything works. Icq, aim, msn and yahoo all work well. Plus there email srvc work also here. Been using this for 3 days. No probs. This is definetly a keeper.

Best IM client around. And v4 is even cooler - simply amazing! Great application, however they need to be a little more proactive on bug fixes.

Betanews, please correct this. It's simply free'-ware". Totally agree, it was good in it's time. Now far surpassed by other IM's. This was good years ago. I have to agree with GhoS, it was good while it lasted. Nowadays Trillian is just not worth the cost, especially since its development has stopped a long time ago don't even mention Astra.

Not a bad piece of software by any length, but there are better and free alternatives. Miranda place is unstable. Pidgin is good, but it is disconnected very much. Trillian will not be the better thing of the better thing, but it is stable. Please, give an opportunity to trillian, it costs a sorrow. The ship has sailed on this software. It was awesome when it came out, but too many good free alternatives to bother paying for a souped up version, not to mention it never sees a worthwhile update.

It has failed to keep up. An okay client. Miranda is better, though - more functionality and FREE. Plus, the company have simply taken too long in producing their Astra version. Probably time to just forget about Trillian and get something else that you know will frequently be updated - Miranda is my top suggestion. Still in alpha-testing I also used to be an avid fan of trillian..

In its day it was far and away the best IM client bar none. But V3 has been around for years and years now. The new version has been vapourware for just as long. I used it religiously until a few years ago and then found other clients came along and did the same as trillian and were free and often more versatile.

But as of now, well it's ok.. It gets a 3 for the number of IM protocols it supports. Great program, but my version is newer then this one.

Don't know where they get the adware from, cause mine doesn't have it. Still worth the download. All have adware, in one form or another. It's the sign of the times. Trillian, in its present free version, has become very dated.

Other free offerings now available cover additional standardly encountered protocols which it seems the developers of Trillian simply cannot see or refuse to support. For more years than I can recall, I was one of Trillian's biggest fans, but it simply has not kept up with what many of its users needs and its competitors. That's possibly not surprising. My singular experience with the developer was far less than pleasant. Only the slightest constructive criticism of Trillian, and a suggested feature [still lacking], elicited a most unprofessional response and absolutely no indication of someone willing to listen to users.

But still, I used it until competing products were just too superior to continue ignoring. Best messaging client. I wanted a freeware IM client. Pidgin is not secure and quite frankly I dont trust it. Getting same problem as user below with Yahoo msgr. And i use this im the most, so that really defeats the point of using this if they can't get this working.

I have been using Trillion for years now, and have loved it. Having one client for everything helps keep memory free. I am currently using Trillion 4 Astra and it's going to be a pretty amazing new product when it goes public. I don't know when the Yahoo! I never had it under v3. Messenger: Unknown error 1. I think Cerulean Studios will never made it because they are not able to. Trillian is good, but still not quite as modular or customisable as Miranda.

I've tried Pidgin too, but was thoroughly unimpressed with it - avatars wouldn't work, and it didn't login to MSN for me consistently. A Solid 4 for keeping the efforts though, but not a 5 as I don't think its the best. I too used trillian for years, and I have to give respects to creators of trillian, they came up with the first really successful multi-protocal chat program, and it worked fantastic too, they persisted with patches and fixes when MSN or AIM tried to block them out, it was great but that was then not now Trillian is no longer in the game.

I tried Miranda at work because I wanted something lighter. I liked it so much better that after 6 years, Trillian got the boot. Over those years I saw Trillian get progressively more bloated to the point where it was actually taking 45 seconds to a minute for it to load when, and that doesn't jive with my system specs.

I was running maybe 3 non-protocol plugins and had a list full of metacontacts, which I figure is average. It's true that Trillian is prettier out-of-the-box, but I don't think that's worth it anymore. I switched to Miranda which is small, portable, does everything I want although you can get much more out of it via plugins , is free and updated frequently.

In response to "Miranda is still requiring minutes of configuration out of the box", I must have entered a wormhole while installing it, because it took me nowhere as long as that. But this is a review for Trillian. I used to be a Trillian fan for many years, and I too find that it does contain a lot of stuff that I simply don't need. I prefer the older, lighter versions, and as a result, I rate this one a 3.

How is this bloated? Very stable and does what it's supposed to do. The old free v. Even better now, stable, not bloated and fast even on really slow computers. Miranda is still requiring minutes of configuration out of the box, sorry miranda.

Not so good now, unstable, bloated and slow even on really fast computers. Miranda is still my favorite, sorry trillian. Verry good app. I wouldn't buy it neither use it, but it seams only this app can sustain video chat with my gf, that's beind NAT, verry restrictive firewall and all sorts of routers and hubs.

And NO Skype sux, and drops connection every 2 minutes, and no i'm not newbie. It's still a good IM client but i won't be using it anymore.

Trillian has really gone downhill. I guess its not gonna happen either. I paid for Trillian because i loved it but with this new version, the new third party software makes me want my money back and im sure alot of ppl think the same way, you had it going ceruleanstudios now you blew it.

Pretty crappy! Why do I have to go to the preferences to login to one of my preconfigured connections? That should be in a dropdown somwhere on the main screen. I used to be a paying customer, but Cerulean Studios refused to provide customers with bugfixes to get decent functionality, even though they had stated that they would provide regular bugfixes, updates and upgrades to the 3.

I gotta say What are you thinking? Not even un-checking the boolean had an effect as it was still installed on my computer. I must say stay clear until they issues a change log and actually respect the boolean for installing the Weather Channel Desktop. The Ask Tool bar was not installed when I checked the boolean.

In any event what a disappointment. Sorry guys, been a longtime user and paying customer and this one pisses me off. Looked and worked ok. Then I saw the memory it used up! Damn memoryhog! It took about 8 times as much memory than msn I recently started evaluating instant messaging clients to see if I oculd replace Live Messenger.

This is pretty poor. To top it off, the interface is clunky. TWO stars for an app that has seen its day. I will agree this is my favorite but needs to be updated fewdays untill , last update was ? This is a good program, but in desperate need for an update. Trillians the best hands down. Cons: None. Trash your yahoo, aim, msn, IRC applications. Trillian has a lot of annoyances, but its still a very useful piece of software for a single user.

It would be nice if it featured a quick login type interface for when someone comes over and uses your pc. But it is still by far the best IM client. I still reccommend using Yahoo Messenger also, because trillians yahoo chat is a little annoying Really not working the way i had hoped Msn drops the connection - The fix expressed in the forums is to go offline and delete contacts?!?! The program is a pain in the butt to manage. Things are sorted in a way that makes it very confusing..

I only now trillian inplace of AIM, but yahoo and msn official clients are extremely recommended if u enjoy the great new features Best IM client out there, hands down. I've tried many and have come to this conclusion.

The plug-ins are endless, the skin forum rocks, and the support is top notch. Getting the buddy list to dock to the side of the screen is flakey at best on my machine - this is my biggest complaint, since I rely on this feature. Build has been around quite a while too. I'd like to see some sign of life besides the occasional protocol update.

But overall, this is as good as it gets. AIM is such a bloated piece of crap. It uses nearly 30 megs of memory when minimized to the taskbar. Trillain uses 5. It also has a superior GUI and no adware. I can't wait to see what the next update brings. Best IM client by far. Has the most popular ones all in one and is very as a very professional look. If you already have an AfterDawn. Recent headlines Tech year wrapped up: Awful battery life, QR code comeback, global chip shortage,.. Trillian v6. Free Download. Description Info All versions Reviews. Program can be customized pretty well as it supports skinning its own form of application skinning. One of the nicest things about Trillian is its ability to create unified contact lists across the various networks, which is a real life saver for people that have several contacts in multiple instant messaging networks.
