On restart a black screen and a pop up message was on my screen. I've breifly looked up in google how to handle this, but I'd like a more personlized answer. My computer also usually upon start up will go to a disk check, it goes through the process and restarts, but I never notice a difference in the performance of the computer.
My computer will also freeze up and I have to manually restart, sometimes several times. I also get occasional blue screens, sometimes they say 'bad pool header' but I don't know what that means. I was having blue screens and I worked with someone online and ran lots of scans and couldn't find any problems, and suspected it was the hard drive. I was under warranty and replaced the hard drive but I'm still getting blue screens. My windows updates are current, all my programs are up to date.
Check if you face the similar issue in safe mode, if not you can try putting your computer in a clean boot state in normal mode and check if it works:. Disclaimer: After you used the clean boot to resolve your problem follow Step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual. I would suggest you to try performing SFC System File Checker scan on your computer and check if the issue still persists. To view how to perform the SFC Scan click on the link provided below and follow the Kb article steps.
How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7. You are getting this error because the file you are trying to run is trying to access the computers memory. Because you are not running the file on a DOS or Win 3. It is basically a DOS emulator.
I've been getting this same message for the last couple days myself on a win2k pro system I wiped the drive and started over a few days ago. So far I've had install. All were exe's but are being spawned by some other process I haven't been able to locate. I keep emptying the folder to try to narrow it down with no success. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be happening? I'm kinda assuming some kind of trojan or something, but if it is I can't seem to locate it.
Hi thunderj, I've got the same problem as you in same directory. I had a norton message pop up previously about a 'bla trojan' but I doesn't seem to find anything on a system scan. Did you manage to find out any more? It has been a while ,so Adaptec may have changed things. I am a Nero man. What worked is download the ASPI file in. Run ' Thunderj, and adamabcd. You BOTH have spyware.
I suggest you get rid of it. NTVDM has encountered an illegal instruction Hi everyone, Ok, I have a similar problem, when I startup my pc, and the tray icons have finished to open, I receive the very same error message Could somebody help me??? Hi everyone, Ok, I have a similar problem, when I startup my pc, and the tray icons have finished to open, I receive the very same error message Yay me I got rid of it using an antispyware program you can find here. It works on two XP desktops but crashes on my laptop.
Using DOSBox on the laptop enables me to run my program. I'd highly recommend trying DOSBox it's free and open source. I have the same problem and it is caused by spyware and a trojan. Thats the little blighter replicating itself. As for removing them - I'm still working on that one. From my expirience with this error, I tell you this: - it's an hardware related error - it appears on systems with the new Intel multicore CPU's - E, etc.
The errors pop's out and I am stunned I've searched around the internet for a solution to this problem and found none, although I have found that many, many people out there are encountering the same installation error message while attempting to install a whole variety of software.
For reference, my system is a Dimension , 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated! All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. Replies 3. No, unfortunately that particular material does not apply to me or have material regarding a resolution. After searching the web and usenet it appears to be a fairly common problem, and one that Microsoft only offers a solution for NT systems with this problem, but for XP users there's no solution I've found to date.
